Tamil Nadu & Czech Republic Tourism webinar

The Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Chennai organized a Tourism Webinar with the theme “Growing Opportunities in Tamil Nadu Czech Tourism”. This was held on Monday Nov 29, 2021 in partnership with the Tourism Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the Czech Embassy in New Delhi and Czech Tourism.

Dr. B. Chandra Mohan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu was the Chief Guest. Mr. Roman Masarik, Acting Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India was the Guest of Honor. The Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chennai Mr. Ar Rm Arun presided over the event. Mr. Marek Kroutil Marketing Manager of Czech Tourism delivered the Special Address

Delivering the Welcome Address, Mr. Ar Rm Arun mentioned about the significance of the Czech Republic and Tamil Nadu as attractive destinations for global tourists. Mr. Arun spoke about the longstanding connect between the 2 regions lasting several decades and growing.

Mr. Marek Kroutil, International Marketing Manager, Czech Tourism in his Address explained about Tourism Opportunities in the Czech Republic.

Mr. Roman Masarik, in his Address said that the current situation is challenging with India’s new Travel norms and restrictions. Czech Businessmen were looking for Opportunities across India including Tamil Nadu and said he will do as much as possible to create good atmosphere between Czech Travel Agencies and India.

Dr. Chandra Mohan, in his Address explained about Tourism places in India, Hospitals in Chennai and mentioned steps can be taken to enhance tourism between Tamil Nadu & Czech Republic once the Pandemic situation is gone by.

Mr. Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, MD, Tamil Nadu Tourism spoken about Wellness, Medical & Leisure Tourism. He delivered a colorful presentation, covering Heritage, Pilgrimage, Art & Culture, Nature Trails, Adventure, Rural sports, etc

Ms. Nicole Machova, Head of Consular Section of the Czech Embassy in New Delhi, explained about Covid Vaccines and the Czech Visa process.

Mr. D. C. D. Dass, Head of Chancery at the Indian Embassy in Prague explained about the Indian Visa Process.

Dr. Asokan, CEO & Director, GEM Hospital

Dr. Asokan, CEO & Director, GEM Hospital, Chennai in his Presentation, explained about Medical Tourism and about excellent facilities at Tamil Nadu’s Hospitals. He mentioned being ready to serve the Czech People, whenever there is need as a Medical Tourist.

. Mr. Venkat S. Ramanan, President Shri Ramana Ashram, delivered his speech about Wellness Tourism and explained about Shri Ramana Ashram.

Ms. Lucie Friedrichová, Project Manager MICE, ASIANA, Co. Ltd, Czech Republic explained about her Company and looked forward to working with her Tamil Nadu counterparts. The event was well attended by Tour Operators & Travel Agents from both the Czech Republic and Tamil Nadu.

The Webinar served as an excellent get-to-know session about the 2 regions and well established a working base to be developed further in the course of time. Mr. Arun appreciated the efforts of Mr. Jakub Jaros of the Czech Embassy in New Delhi, Mr. Vijay Akella of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Chennai and Members of the Tourism Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, for their significant efforts in conducting this successful Webinar.
